A unique collection of 230 paintings of traditional boats by Louis George-Batier that have been the object of numerous exhibitions organised by the Association Sea and Culture.
Louis George-Batier was born on 15th November 1929. A designer by profession, he decided to build a sailing boat and set off on a trip round the world which was to last 15 years. At each port of call he sketched and painted the local maritime heritage, and returned from his voyage with a unique collection of paintings of traditional boats from all over the world.
Louis George-Batier still paints seascapes in his studio in Mougins, and continues to be very attached to the traditional boats and works commissioned by boat owners, museums and collectors.
